African stock market closing report: South African stock market fell by about 0.2%, with mining stocks leading the decline.
On Monday, the South Africa FTSE/JSE Africa Top 40 traded index closed down by 0.18% below 101,800 points. Among the component stocks, British American Tobacco fell by 2.66%, Anglo American fell by 2.36%, AngloGold Ashanti fell by 2.33%, BHP Group fell by 1.76%, and Kumba Iron Ore fell by 1.75% ranking as the fifth largest decliner. Naspers, on the other hand, closed up by 0.33% ranking among the top gainers, Sasol rose by 2.01% as the third largest gainer, Richemont Group rose by 2.14%, and Pepkor Holdings rose by 3.45%.
