Ericsson and VodafoneZiggo signed a three-year partnership agreement to fully upgrade the Dutch mobile network.

On November 3rd, Ericsson announced that it has signed a three-year cooperation agreement with VodafoneZiggo to upgrade and expand its mobile network nationwide in the Netherlands. This large-scale project involves 3000 sites, including deploying VodafoneZiggo's newly licensed 3.5GHz spectrum, modernizing existing network infrastructure, and managing the performance of the upgraded network. Ericsson will provide and deploy its latest ultra-lightweight TDD massive MIMO radio equipment, AIR 3255. Additionally, the project will introduce other network solutions to further reduce energy consumption, simplify installation processes, and ensure high performance is not compromised. The project will be implemented based on Ericsson's global network architecture and includes complete construction and deployment services. The work is scheduled to commence this year and will continue over the next three years.
