The Canton Fair promotes the prosperity of Guangzhou's port, achieving double growth in both passenger and cargo traffic.

The 138th Canton Fair Phase Three opened on October 31st. During the Canton Fair, businesses from around the world gathered in Guangzhou, bringing prosperity to the local economy. Since October, the flow of passengers and goods at Guangzhou port has been at a high level due to the Canton Fair. According to Guangzhou Customs statistics, in October this year, there were more than 5200 inbound flights and around 800,000 inbound passengers at Guangzhou port, an increase of approximately 9.2% and 14.8% respectively compared to last year. The Canton Fair not only boosts the number of inbound and outbound passengers, but also drives rapid growth in the departure tax refund business at Guangzhou port. Guangzhou Customs has set up dedicated tax refund windows, added guidance signs, expanded inspection sites, and promoted data connectivity between tax authorities, customs, and tax refund agencies to continuously improve operational efficiency.
