Hurun Research Institute released its first legal industry rankings, with the listed law firms mainly headquartered in Beijing and Shanghai.

On November 1st, the Hurun Research Institute released the "2026 Hurun Smart List Greater China Top 100 Outstanding Law Firms". This is the first time that the Hurun Research Institute has released a ranking for the legal industry. The data shows that as of September 2025, there were 45,000 law firms in China, with 830,000 lawyers. This ranking focuses on the outstanding performance and market influence of law firms in core business areas such as corporate governance, domestic and cross-border listings, mergers and acquisitions, while also taking into account the scale and capabilities of law firms, national one-stop service capabilities, and corporate evaluations.
