On November 1st local time, the Tanzania National Electoral Commission announced the tallying results, showing that the candidate of the ruling party Chama Cha Mapinduzi, the incumbent President Samia Suluhu Hassan, won the presidential election in Tanzania. Tanzania held its general election on the 29th, electing the President, members of the National Assembly, and local councilors. This election is the 7th since Tanzania implemented a multi-party system in 1992. According to the National Electoral Commission, over 37 million eligible voters registered for this election, with approximately 99,000 polling stations set up. The President of Tanzania is elected directly by the people for a 5-year term.
