Ideal Motors issued an apology for the vehicle fire incident involving the MEGA 2024 model. After the incident, Ideal Motors immediately contacted the car owner and cooperated actively with relevant departments to conduct an investigation. Due to the need for users, firefighters, and relevant agencies to jointly carry out inspections and tests on the accident vehicles, this process must follow strict procedures and take a long time. As of now, a final technical conclusion has not yet been reached. At the same time, an internal investigation and analysis were immediately launched, and a review of the cloud warning system records and specialized verification data was conducted. The results showed that due to insufficient anti-corrosion performance of the coolant in the batch of MEGA 2024 vehicles, under specific conditions, corrosion and leakage of the cooling aluminum plates in the cooling circuit for the power battery and front motor controller may occur, leading to malfunction indicator lights, power limitation, and inability to power on the vehicle. In extreme cases, this can cause the power battery to heat out of control, posing a safety hazard. Ideal Motors has voluntarily filed a recall plan with the National Administration for Market Regulation, and all MEGA 2024 vehicles from the same batch as the accident vehicles will undergo safety testing and replacement repairs.
