In the first half of the year, the number of effective invention patents in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area reached 817,000.

At the special conference "Intellectual Property Rights to Support the High-Quality Development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area" held by the State Intellectual Property Office in Guangzhou, it was learned that as of June this year, the number of valid invention patents and registered trademarks authorized by the National Intellectual Property Office in the Greater Bay Area has reached 817,000 and 8.524 million respectively, accounting for about 1/6 of the total domestic amount. In the first half of this year, the State Intellectual Property Office received 13,500 PCT international patent applications submitted by innovative entities in the Bay Area, an increase of over 30% compared to the same period last year.
