Suqian, Jiangsu: Fully cancel medical insurance household registration restrictions.

On the morning of October 30, at the press conference of the Suqian Municipal People's Government Information Office, the Suqian Medical Insurance Bureau announced the progress of the expansion of basic medical insurance coverage in Suqian. In terms of the threshold for insurance coverage, Suqian has completely eliminated household registration restrictions. Permanent residents and employed individuals with household registration in other cities can directly participate in basic medical insurance in Suqian. Flexible employment personnel, migrant workers, and individuals with new employment forms can participate in employee medical insurance at their place of employment. In order to encourage continuous insurance coverage, the Suqian Medical Insurance Bureau has set a cap on catastrophic medical expenses. Starting from July 1, 2025, a cap of 500,000 yuan will be set for eligible medical expenses covered by catastrophic medical insurance. At the same time, a mechanism for incentivizing benefits for catastrophic medical insurance for urban and rural residents will be established.
