The Inter-Ministerial Joint Conference on Preventing and Combating Illegal Financial Activities held a special meeting on October 29th in Beijing to crack down on illegal financial activities conducted through mobile apps. Li Yunze, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Financial Regulatory Bureau, attended the meeting and gave a speech. Zhou Liang, member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Financial Regulatory Bureau, chaired the meeting. The meeting called for the effective use of the joint conference as a comprehensive coordination platform, strengthening deployment and promoting the implementation of key tasks. Relevant industry regulatory departments must implement the principle of "regulating legal activities is as important as regulating illegal activities" and "industry regulation must also focus on risks," while enhancing sector guidance. Local party committees and governments at all levels must take responsibility for preventing and combating illegal financial activities, cracking down on major cases to deter crime, and strengthening early intervention and prevention against risks to build a solid barrier against financial risks at the source.
