National Development and Reform Commission: The overall impact of disaster weather on grain production is controllable.
On October 31st, Li Chao, Deputy Director of the Policy Research Office of the National Development and Reform Commission and spokesperson, stated that since the beginning of this year, agricultural production in many parts of China has been affected by unfavorable weather. Since September, the Huang-Huai-Hai region including Henan and Shandong has experienced rare and prolonged rainy weather, posing significant challenges to grain production. The National Development and Reform Commission has closely monitored the situation and supported local efforts in responding to the disasters. At the same time, efforts have been made to ensure the smooth operation of grain purchase and storage channels, stabilize the grain market, and minimize the impact of disasters on grain production and farmers' income. Through these efforts, the summer grain production is stable and abundant, early rice has increased production, and autumn grain production has a good foundation and is currently being harvested. From various aspects of the situation, the impact of disaster weather on grain production is generally controllable, and a bountiful harvest of grains is expected for the year.
