Wang Peng, Director of the Energy Conservation and Comprehensive Utilization Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, stated at a regular policy briefing of the State Council that next, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will adhere to the concept of green development, and focus on promoting green design and green manufacturing with greater efforts, accelerating the green transformation and upgrading of the entire chain of product design, manufacturing, use, recycling, and circular utilization. By integrating "points, lines, and surfaces," they aim to create a green industrial ecosystem to solidify the industrial foundation for expanding green trade. Firstly, they will promote green design at the source. They will apply the concept of green design that emphasizes lightweight, non-toxic, long-lasting, and easily recyclable products, focusing on developing and promoting green products such as green home appliances, green building materials, and green equipment for industries like electronics and automobiles, while vigorously developing green industries such as new energy vehicles and energy-saving environmental protection equipment. Secondly, they will build green factories. They will leverage the foundational role of green factories in the green transformation, implement a plan to improve and expand green factories, accelerate the transition from benchmark leadership to wider scale promotion. By 2030, the proportion of national, provincial, and municipal green factory output value is planned to increase to 40%, guiding green factories to tap into the potential of energy saving and carbon reduction, and nurture a batch of zero-carbon factories. Thirdly, they will cultivate a green supply chain. They will carry out actions to enhance the green supply chain, encourage leading large enterprises to play a leading role in promoting green transformation of the entire chain through tilt policies like green procurement, increasing the proportion of green factory enterprises among suppliers. Lastly, they will develop green industrial parks. They will implement a plan to upgrade green industrial parks, drive the green transformation of high-tech zones and industrial parks, and actively nurture and construct a batch of zero-carbon industrial parks.
