Samsung SDI and BMW Group have reached a cooperation agreement on the solid-state battery validation project.

On October 31, Samsung SDI announced that it has signed a trilateral agreement with the German luxury car manufacturer BMW Group and the American battery technology company Solid Power to jointly conduct a solid-state battery verification project. According to the agreement, Samsung SDI will use the solid-state electrolyte developed by Solid Power to supply solid-state battery units with higher energy density and safety features. BMW Group will be responsible for the development of battery modules and packs. The three parties aim to assess the battery performance based on jointly determined parameters and requirements, and test them on BMW's next-generation validation vehicles.
