Spanish Prime Minister Sanchez faced questions from the Senate's "Gurtel case" investigation committee on the 30th. According to the Spanish newspaper La Nacion, the committee is investigating the so-called "Gurtel case", which involves former Spanish Minister of Transport Jose Luis Avalos, his former advisor Gurtel, and Santos Serdan, former secretary of the Workers' Socialist Party to which Sanchez belongs. The individuals mentioned above all face corruption charges. The opposition People's Party accuses Sanchez of being the mastermind and claims that the charges against him not only affect his political party and government officials, but also involve his wife and brother.
