On October 30th local time, New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced that New York State has entered a state of emergency and allocated $65 million for emergency food relief in the state. Hochul said that this move will help approximately 3 million New York residents who have lost food assistance due to the termination of the federal government's "Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program".
