CEO of Malaysia Airlines Group: Assessing the feasibility of purchasing C919 aircraft.
"We are evaluating various types of aircraft that can support the growth of the group, and COMAC's aircraft are also within our evaluation scope." Malaysia Airlines Group CEO, Izham Ismail, recently revealed the above information in an interview with reporters. Currently, Malaysia Airlines' fleet consists of Boeing and Airbus aircraft, and the company is pursuing a long-term development plan to increase the fleet size from the current 86 aircraft to 116 by 2035. "We are evaluating the growth plan for narrow-body aircraft, and COMAC's C919 aircraft is also one of the options," Ismail disclosed to reporters. "I think a decision may be made around 2026."
