The Microsoft Azure service has returned to normal after a global outage.

Microsoft's Azure stated that in regions affected by the outage, its services are undergoing significant improvements. The outage has impacted productivity software suites and various industries globally for the tech giant. Alaska Airlines earlier on Wednesday stated that due to the Azure interruption, key systems including the website were affected and would be back online once Microsoft resolves the issue. Following the impact on the website of London's Heathrow Airport earlier in the day, Vodafone was also affected by the outage. Azure said on its status page that by 7:20 PM Eastern Time in the United States, "marked improvements are evident in the affected regions and are moving towards full resolution." Affected services include Azure communication services and media services.
