The value of total restaurant receipts accelerated to a 3.1% year-on-year increase, with receipts of all restaurant categories recording growth. The growth in restaurant receipts continued to accelerate during the quarter, reflecting a steady local consumption atmosphere. The earlier timing of the Mid-Autumn Festival this year than last year also helped boost receipts in September. Looking ahead, sustained steady economic expansion and growth in employment earnings will support local consumption and benefit the restaurant business. A series of upcoming major events and district festive activities, together with the continued growth of inbound tourism, will be conducive to the restaurant business. The Government will continue to closely monitor the potential impact of the evolving external adverse factors on the local restaurant business.
