Sinolink: AI copper-clad laminate/PCB Q3 results standout, Q4 expected to continue
Sinolink released a research report suggesting investors focus on three main themes: AI computing hardware, semiconductor self-controllability, and edge AI innovation. In AI computing, with the continued volume ramp of next-generation GPUs and North American cloud providers' ASICs, demand for AI servers, high-speed switches, and related equipment is expected to maintain rapid growth; investors should watch AI-PCB, copper-clad laminate, and upstream supporting supply chains. In semiconductors, domestic advanced logic and memory production lines continue to expand, and localization of equipment, components, and materials continues to advance; meanwhile, the upward memory cycle and volume ramp of domestic AI computing chips are driving profit improvement in the design segment, and investors should watch core companies in the self-controllable supply chain. In edge AI, attention should be paid to new demand brought by Apple's new product cycle, AI smart glasses, AI PCs, and other AIoT hardware innovations.
Sinolink's main views are as follows:

Among this, 2026Q3 achieved revenue of RMB1,820.367 billion, up approximately 46.7% year-on-year and 33.56% quarter-on-quarter; net profit attributable to parent was RMB237.910 billion, up approximately 80.5% year-on-year and 111.86% quarter-on-quarter. In the first three quarters, demand for AI cloud computing infrastructure continued to grow, domestic semiconductor self-controllability accelerated, and demand improvement driven by edge AI and the consumer electronics new product cycle jointly pushed sector revenue and profit to maintain rapid growth. In the first three quarters of 2026, the electronics industry's gross margin was 21.9% and net margin was 11.2%; in 26Q3, gross margin was 22.6% and net margin was 11.8%.
AI computing demand remains highly prosperous, AI copper-clad laminate/PCB Q3 results standout
The PCB industry achieved revenue of RMB332.460 billion in the first three quarters of 2026, up 45.09% year-on-year, and net profit attributable to parent of RMB45.832 billion, up 108.42% year-on-year. 2026Q3 achieved revenue of RMB146.339 billion, up 85.40% year-on-year and 41.27% quarter-on-quarter; net profit attributable to parent was RMB24.094 billion, up 196.00% year-on-year and 75.56% quarter-on-quarter. Driven by continued growth in demand for AI servers, switches, and high-speed interconnect, demand for high-layer boards, high-order HDI, and low-loss materials ramped rapidly, PCB content and value per rack continued to rise, and leading manufacturers maintained high utilization rates for high-end capacity.
Memory
The cycle continued to rise, with revenue and profit improving significantly. The memory industry achieved revenue of RMB490.152 billion in the first three quarters of 2026, up 393.40% year-on-year, and net profit attributable to parent of RMB183.518 billion, achieving a substantial turnaround from a loss of RMB1.489 billion in the same period last year. Among this, 2026Q3 achieved revenue of RMB208.163 billion, up 398.25% year-on-year and 17.27% quarter-on-quarter; net profit attributable to parent was RMB69.658 billion, achieving a substantial year-on-year turnaround. The expansion of AI computing clusters continued to drive demand for high-end memory such as HBM and enterprise SSDs; memory original manufacturers continued to shift capacity toward high-value-added products such as HBM, supply of traditional DRAM and NAND remained tight, and memory prices stayed at relatively high levels.
Semiconductor equipment
Domestic substitution continued to advance, with profit maintaining rapid growth. The semiconductor equipment industry achieved revenue of RMB88.063 billion in the first three quarters of 2026, up 24.62% year-on-year, and net profit attributable to parent of RMB19.131 billion, up 63.57% year-on-year. 2026Q3 achieved revenue of RMB32.690 billion, up approximately 21.8% year-on-year and 9.42% quarter-on-quarter; net profit attributable to parent was RMB7.467 billion, up approximately 52.0% year-on-year and 3.44% quarter-on-quarter. Domestic wafer fab capital expenditure remained at a high intensity, expansion of advanced logic and memory production lines continued, and combined with the increase in equipment value brought by process upgrades, domestic equipment manufacturers continued to benefit from capacity expansion and rising localization rates.
Semiconductor design
AI computing and the memory cycle resonated, with profit elasticity continuing to be released. The semiconductor design sector achieved revenue of RMB129.443 billion in the first three quarters of 2026, up 41.58% year-on-year, and net profit attributable to parent of RMB31.714 billion, up 129.73% year-on-year. Among this, 2026Q3 achieved revenue of RMB49.720 billion, up 49.35% year-on-year and 10.02% quarter-on-quarter; net profit attributable to parent was RMB12.492 billion, up 140.73% year-on-year. Growth in AI computing demand drove continued volume ramp of high-performance computing chips and supporting chips, while rising memory prices drove profit improvement at related design companies; edge AI hardware upgrades continued to drive demand for high-performance SoCs, high-capacity memory, CIS, and other chips.
Consumer electronics
Edge AI continued to penetrate, with the new product cycle supporting demand. The consumer electronics industry achieved revenue of RMB1,974.935 billion in the first three quarters of 2026, up 33.98% year-on-year, and net profit attributable to parent of RMB82.353 billion, up 36.77% year-on-year. Among this, 2026Q3 achieved revenue of RMB790.432 billion, up 33.06% year-on-year, and net profit attributable to parent of RMB32.573 billion, up 18.19% year-on-year. Edge AI continued to drive software and hardware upgrades in smartphones, AI PCs, and wearable devices; some consumer electronics leaders accelerated expansion into emerging fields such as AI servers, liquid cooling, high-speed connectivity, and precision structural parts, gradually reusing their existing precision manufacturing and supply chain capabilities in computing hardware segments.
