GE HealthCare launches AI-powered imaging system for cardiac surgery.
GE HealthCare (GEHC.US) on Sunday unveiled Allia Celeoa ceiling-mounted medical imaging system for cardiac and other minimally invasive interventional proceduresat the Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics conference (TCT 2026) in San Diego. The system combines AI-assisted imaging, automated device positioning and remote monitoring technology to help clinicians perform interventional procedures involving blood vessels, the heart and other organs. For investors, the launch expands GE HealthCare's interventional imaging portfolioat a time when hospitals are seeking to improve surgical efficiency and control operating costs.
Allia Celeo features a large-bore C-arman X-ray imaging device that rotates around the patient to capture images from different angles. The ceiling-mounted design frees up additional space for staff and equipment, while automated positioning is intended to reduce interruptions during procedures.
AI software automatically adjusts imaging parameters to balance image quality and radiation dose. A digital twin preview feature lets clinicians preview rack positions before adjusting them.
The system is compatible with GE HealthCare software for coronary stent visualization, heart valve procedure guidance and oncology treatment support, and can work with OnWatch Predictwhich uses remote monitoring and predictive analytics to identify potential issues before equipment failure occurs.
Allia Celeo follows the floor-mounted Allia Moveo released in 2025, which entered commercial sales earlier this year.
