Pacific Basin Shipping (02343) rose over 3%, up 3.62% as of press time to HK$3.725, with turnover of HK$20.7191 million. On the news front, Pacific Basin Shipping recently announced its third-quarter operating data, recording an average daily profit of US$2,190 across approximately 6,610 operating days in Q3 2026. These operating activities involve using short-term chartered vessels to transport customers' spot cargoes, creating an additional profit source for the company's core business. JP Morgan believes that Pacific Basin Shipping's Q3 operational update reinforces the bank's positive view on freight rate resilience and views the recent share price pullback as a buying opportunity, estimating a dividend yield of about 9% for the company this year. The bank noted improved earnings visibility for Q4 this year, positive management outlook for next year, and maintained spot exposure amid resilient demand and potential El Nio disruptions. CICC noted that, according to the company's announcement, as of October 12, 2026, the company had covered 65% and 76% of committed vessel days for Handysize and Supramax vessels in Q4, corresponding to TCE of US$16,480/day and US$18,960/day respectively, 2.9% and 5.4% higher than actual Q3 TCE. The bank believes the higher coverage enhances Q4 earnings certainty, while uncovered vessel days retain spot rate flexibility and are expected to benefit from Q4 freight rate increases.
