Eastroc Beverage (09980) fell nearly 5% intraday, touching HK$88.55, a new low since listing. As of press time, it is down 4.56% at HK$88.85, with a turnover of HK$41.0251 million. On the news front, according to reports, several leading domestic beverage companies have recently issued price adjustment notices to distributors. The direct reason for the price increases is beverage packaging raw material, namely PET beverage bottles. Data shows that the benchmark spot price of East China water-bottle-grade PET rose from 6,322.5 yuan/ton in early January this year to 9,046.67 yuan/ton on October 12, a cumulative increase of 43% year-to-date. In the second quarter of this year, Eastroc Beverage's revenue and non-GAAP net profit attributable to parent grew 11.31% and 6.56% year-on-year, respectively, markedly slower than the 21.46% and 25.15% growth in the first quarter. Orient believes that affected by unfavorable weather factors, the soft drinks industry's volume will come under periodic pressure during the peak season in 2026. Taking into account industry performance, the bank expects Eastroc Beverage's Q3 revenue performance to broadly continue the Q2 trend. On the profit side, considering effective cost control through measures such as locking in prices for PET and other raw materials, it is expected that the company's gross margin will maintain an upward trend in Q3.
