Invest Hongport: Leveraging Deep Shenzhen-Hong Kong Integration to Help Mainland Enterprises "Go Global" and Build Hong Kong's Four Core Functions
Director-General of Investment Promotion of Hong Kong, Alpha Lau, said at a recent event that Invest Hongport, as the secretariat of the "Going Global Task Force," has held more than 20 promotional events overseas and in Hong Kong over the past year. She pointed out that Hong Kong, as the first stop for mainland enterprises "going global," possesses four core functions: a hub for compliance systems and global trust, a global treasury center and supply chain hub, an international marketing stage for high-end brands, and an incubator for innovative models.
Lau mentioned that under the combined dividends of the "15th Five-Year Plan" and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area development, the key to helping enterprises build international brands lies in "deep Shenzhen-Hong Kong integration" and "Greater Bay Area integration," especially the Qianhai Cooperation Zone. Through Qianhai, Hong Kong can deeply combine the mainland's vast manufacturing and technological innovation strengths with Hong Kong's international professional services (such as finance, law, and accounting), thereby promoting "Greater Bay Area manufacturing" and "Greater Bay Area innovation" to the world in a manner recognized by international markets.
In addition, Invest Hongport is actively building a "cross-sector professional service platform" to help Greater Bay Area enterprises precisely align with the high standards of European and American and global markets in areas such as green transition and compliance governance, and to connect Hong Kong's international innovation resources with the Greater Bay Area's advanced manufacturing and application scenarios.
Looking ahead, Invest Hongport will understand enterprises' going-global objectives before they come to Hong Kong, and assist them in planning management platforms in Hong Kong such as corporate headquarters, treasury centers, brands, and intellectual property. Based on enterprise needs, it will connect them with suitable professional service institutions in law, accounting, financing, marketing, and conformity assessment. After enterprises establish a presence, the agency will continue to follow up and assist enterprises in expanding into overseas markets using Hong Kong as a platform.
