METIS TECHBIO-P(07666): Enters into Strategic Collaboration with Lilly to Advance Next-Generation Tissue-Specific LNP Delivery Technology

METIS TECHBIO-P(07666) announced that the Company has entered into a strategic collaboration with Eli Lilly and Company (Lilly) focused on the research and discovery of novel lipid nanoparticle (LNP) delivery solutions aimed at achieving tissue-specific delivery of therapeutic modalities. Under the terms of the agreement, METiS will receive an upfront payment exceeding US$10 million and is eligible to receive development, regulatory, and commercial milestone payments totaling up to approximately US$1.1 billion. In addition, METiS will be eligible to receive tiered royalty payments at single-digit percentage rates based on annual net sales of products resulting from the collaboration. Pursuant to the agreement, METiS will utilize its proprietary AI-driven ionizable lipid discovery and optimization platform, AiLNP, to develop next-generation delivery technologies with the potential to enhance LNP delivery targeting and biodistribution. Lilly will provide its expertise in drug discovery, development, and commercialization to support the advancement of the collaboration. Lipid nanoparticles have become a powerful means of delivering therapeutic payloads to target tissues and cells. By combining METiS's capabilities in generative and predictive AI for rational LNP design and optimization with Lilly's scientific and development expertise, the parties aim to discover and optimize novel LNP architectures to enhance tissue specificity, improve therapeutic efficacy, and expand their applicability across multiple disease areas.
