Humanwell Healthcare (600079.SH) announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Humanwell PuraCap Pharmaceutical (Wuhan) Co., Ltd. ("Humanwell PuraCap"), recently received an approval number from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for Lubiprostone Soft Capsules. Lubiprostone Soft Capsules are approved for the treatment of: (1) chronic idiopathic constipation (CIC) in adults; (2) opioid-induced constipation (OIC) in adult patients with chronic non-cancer pain, including patients with prior cancer or cancer treatment-related chronic pain who do not require frequent (e.g., weekly) upward dose adjustments of opioids; (3) irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C) in women aged 18 years and older.
