On Tuesday, Apple Inc. (AAPL.US) rose nearly 2% in early trading, hitting a new all-time high, with its total market capitalization surpassing $5 trillion. On the news front, Apple Inc. announced the launch of its smart home device HomeView, equipped with a 7-inch Liquid Retina display, integrating music playback, video calls, home monitoring, and smart home control functions, and featuring a new generation of Siri based on Apple Intelligence. The device supports up to 6 users, providing personalized content through facial recognition, and emphasizes privacy and data security. HomeView is available in a desktop version and a wall-mounted version, both priced at $299. Pre-orders opened on the same day, with sales in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and other markets starting on November 13. Apple Inc. also announced partnerships with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric to launch supporting products such as smart cameras, thermostats, and door locks. Since Siri AI has not yet been launched in iOS systems in the European Union, HomeView will not be sold in the EU for the time being.
Lu Zhang, founder and managing partner of Fusion Fund, holds a positive view of Apple Inc.'s long-term prospects. She believes that the contribution of first-generation smart home products to Apple Inc.'s overall revenue may be limited, and whether the foldable iPhone Duo can drive large-scale device upgrades remains to be seen. However, she pointed out that after AI companies launch new models, they still need to rely on Apple Inc.'s hardware and ecosystem to reach users, which gives Apple Inc. a certain advantage in distribution channels. In her view, as long as Apple Inc. can continue to launch competitive hardware products, its high valuation will still be supported.
