Hong Kong Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po, speaking at the opening ceremony of the "CUHK Innovation and Technology Expo," said the HKSAR Government is building a broad runway for startups, continuously increasing investment in innovation and technology, advancing Shenzhen-Hong Kong innovation and technology cooperation in the Loop, and developing the University Town in the Northern Metropolis to promote the integrated development of education, technology, and talent, as well as guiding patient capital to support early-stage projects and accompany their long-term growth.
Paul Chan Mo-po said the HKSAR Government continues to optimize the listing platform to make it easier for more enterprises to raise funds, and vigorously attracts key enterprises, hoping that regardless of the stage a project is at, it can find excellent partners and funding support in Hong Kong. The HKSAR Government attaches importance to nurturing local talent. In recent years, the number of people studying STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) subjects has increased, which is encouraging. At the same time, it welcomes talent from the mainland and overseas to develop in Hong Kong, believing that only by remaining open and allowing talent from different backgrounds to exchange and collaborate can vitality be injected into innovation and technology.
The "CUHK Innovation and Technology Expo" is being held for two consecutive days starting today (October 9), including displays by 44 innovative research and entrepreneurial teams, covering four major areas: artificial intelligence, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, and education and social innovation.
