RAFFLESINTERIOR (01376) announced that, in relation to allegations concerning, among others, Mr. Zheng Nenghuan, an executive director of the company, as contained in a demand letter and an anonymous complaint letter, the board of directors has noted that a number of previous announcements expressly or in substance stated that the company was unable to verify or could not confirm the accuracy of the factual statements in the relevant complaint letter at the relevant time.
RAFFLESINTERIOR (01376) announces that, in relation to allegations concerning, among others, Mr. Zheng Nenghuan, an executive director of the Company, as contained in a demand letter and an anonymous complaint letter, the Board has noted that a number of previous announcements expressly or in substance stated that the Company was unable at the relevant time to verify or confirm the accuracy of the factual statements in the relevant complaint letter. Although certain previous announcements recorded that the Company had made enquiries with Mr. Zheng Nenghuan, the current Board is not aware of any previous announcement disclosing that the then-serving board of directors of the Company had, prior to the publication of the announcements, completed substantive verification of such allegations, ascertained the identity of the complainant, or obtained independent third-party evidence sufficient to support or refute such allegations. Nevertheless, the previous announcements repeatedly referred to such allegations. The Board is of the view that the previous announcements did not set out, in a comprehensive and balanced manner, the clarifications and supporting information submitted by Mr. Zheng Nenghuan.
The Board also notes that certain media reports and social media posts have reproduced or quoted the previous announcements, and some of them did not mention the statements in the previous announcements specifying that the Company was unable at the relevant time to verify or confirm the accuracy of the relevant allegations, nor did they mention the clarifications submitted by Mr. Zheng Nenghuan. The Board is concerned that the continued circulation of such reports and posts may result in unverified information remaining in the market and may cause confusion among the Company's shareholders and potential investors.
After due consideration of the above matters, the Board resolved on 8 October 2026: (i) to authorise an executive director or an employee of the Company to contact the relevant media in respect of the above reports and posts and to request correction of such reports and posts, or to request their removal; and (ii) to authorise an executive director or an employee of the Company to take such action as it considers necessary or appropriate against any non-cooperative media, including but not limited to taking legal action.
