Realord Group Holdings Limited (01196) announces that on 8 October 2026, Realord Intelligent Computing Technology Group Limited (Realord Intelligent Computing), an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company, entered into a memorandum of understanding with Longma Intelligent Computing Investment Limited (the Project Promoter) in respect of a possible project in Johor, Malaysia, involving the design, construction, ownership and operation of an artificial intelligence data center for the Group.
Pursuant to the memorandum of understanding, the parties intend to explore cooperation in respect of the project, which is expected to involve the acquisition of land in Johor, Malaysia and the construction of facilities and related infrastructure specifically for the development of an artificial intelligence data center to support artificial intelligence, cloud computing and other high-performance computing applications.
The proposed artificial intelligence data center facilities are expected to comprise data center buildings equipped with infrastructure (including power supply and distribution systems, cooling systems, and other necessary facilities for housing high-performance computing equipment). The project is planned to have a total capacity of up to approximately 300 megawatts, to be developed in phases, with the first phase comprising approximately 100 megawatts.
The Group is expected to leverage its property development and project management capabilities in developing the artificial intelligence data center facilities and related infrastructure. The Project Promoter possesses relevant experience and industry resources in artificial intelligence data center project development, including project planning, construction, operation and management, financing and computing services, and will provide the Group with all necessary skills and expertise to assist in establishing the artificial intelligence data center.
Pursuant to the memorandum of understanding, the Project Promoter is expected to assist Realord Intelligent Computing in its discussions with landowners regarding the potential land acquisition for the project, and to coordinate technical, commercial and other resources for the development of the project. The Group will evaluate the feasibility of the project and conduct due diligence thereon, including whether the proposed land is suitable for artificial intelligence data center development and the relevant regulatory requirements, including but not limited to land use and the rules and regulations of the regulatory data center task force, which is a cross-agency body of the Malaysian government responsible for coordinating the assessment and approval process for data center development projects.
Property development constitutes one of the principal businesses of the Group. The Board considers that the project will enable the Group to leverage its existing property development and project management capabilities to develop facilities and related infrastructure specifically for artificial intelligence data centers, thereby expanding its business into the digital infrastructure sector. Nevertheless, the Group will continue to assess the commercial feasibility, investment requirements and potential risks of the project before deciding whether to proceed with the project.
