Former Wedbush tech analyst Dan Ives released his top tech sector picks for 2027 on Wednesday, naming Nvidia, Microsoft, Palantir, Apple, and CrowdStrike as his five top tech picks.
Former Wedbush tech analyst Dan Ives released his top tech sector picks for 2027 on Wednesday, naming NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US), Microsoft Corporation (MSFT.US), Palantir (PLTR.US), Apple Inc. (AAPL.US), and CrowdStrike (CRWD.US) as his five top tech picks. Ives said on social media: "Officially launching tech sector coverage tonight. In our view, investors are underestimating the scale and scope of this $4 trillion spending wave over the next few years."
He also named Tesla, Inc. (TSLA.US) as his top disruptive tech pick, initiating coverage with an "Outperform" rating, calling it the market's most important AI and Siasun Robot&Automation platform. Ives gave all five of his top picks an "Outperform" initial rating.
On specific price targets: NVIDIA Corporation $300, calling it "the foundational compute platform of the AI economy"; Apple Inc. $400, expecting AI to support device upgrades and services growth; Microsoft Corporation $650; Palantir $250, as enterprises increasingly deploy AI into business operations; CrowdStrike $335, as enterprises deploying AI agents drives rising cybersecurity demand.
Year-to-date stock performance: NVIDIA Corporation up about 27%, Microsoft Corporation up about 12%, Apple Inc. up about 23%, Palantir up about 14%, CrowdStrike up nearly 146%, Tesla, Inc. down about 14%.
The core of Ives' bullish thesis lies in the persistently strong outlook for AI infrastructure spending. Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. estimates that AI-related capital investment could reach $4 trillion to $8 trillion over the next five years. He added: "At this stage of the AI revolution cycle, supply rather than demand is the decisive factor. We believe this AI buildout is still in its early stages, and we remain firmly bullish on the prospects of tech winners in the years ahead."
