On October 7, data from the Ministry of Transport showed that on October 6, 2026 (the 6th day of the National Day holiday), the total cross-regional passenger flow across society was 303.46 million person-trips, up 0.04% from the previous day and down 1.9% from the same period in 2025 (October 7, the 7th day of the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday, the same below).
Among this: railway passenger volume was 21.605 million person-trips, up 2.7% from the previous day and up 11.8% year on year;
road passenger flow was 277.99 million person-trips, down 0.1% from the previous day and down 2.9% year on year (of which commercial road passenger volume was 43.15 million person-trips, up 8.4% from the previous day and up 4.5% year on year; non-commercial passenger car travel on expressways and ordinary national and provincial roads was 234.84 million person-trips, down 1.5% from the previous day and down 4.1% year on year);
waterway passenger volume was 1.378 million person-trips, down 9.9% from the previous day and up 24.1% year on year;
civil aviation passenger volume was 2.487 million person-trips, up 1.5% from the previous day and up 0.9% year on year.
