The Hong Kong Monetary Authority announced today (October 7) that Hong Kong's official foreign exchange reserve assets at the end of September 2026 were US$433 billion (US$442.8 billion at the end of August 2026). There were no unsettled foreign exchange contracts at the end of September and August 2026. The total foreign exchange reserve assets of US$433 billion represent more than five times the currency in circulation in Hong Kong, or about 35% of the Hong Kong dollar money supply M3.
