Dajin Heavy Industry (01081) rose over 4% in early trading. As of press time, it was up 4.76% at HK$33.48, with a turnover of HK$5.0687 million. On the news front, multiple shipbuilding industry sources said that Evalend Shipping, owned by Greek shipowner Kriton Lendoudis, has commissioned Dajin Heavy Industry to build a series of 211,000 dwt Newcastlemax bulk carriers. Reports said the shipowner held negotiations with Dajin Heavy Industry in July for the newbuilding of up to 4 Newcastlemax bulk carriers, and the number of vessels involved in this order has now increased to 5. It is understood that the per-vessel cost of these scrubber-fitted Newcastlemax bulk carriers is approximately US$77.5 million. Huaxi previously noted that the shipbuilding segment has officially entered the mainstream shipbuilding market. Since its first order signing in August 2025, the company has cumulatively signed newbuilding orders for a total of 24 vessels, with a total contract value of approximately RMB 12 billion, and the order delivery period is concentrated in 2027-2030. It continues to be bullish on the incremental space of the company's new growth curve driven by both its own fleet transportation and shipbuilding.
