John Lee: APEC Finance Ministers' Meeting to be held in Hong Kong on the 20th-21st, will discuss global and regional macroeconomic and financial situations.

John Lee expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the country's trust and support for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and stressed that he will go all out to ensure the success of the meeting.
On October 6, John Lee Ka-chiu, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, said at a pre-Executive Council press conference that the APEC Finance Ministers' Meeting will be held in Hong Kong on the 20th to 21st of this month. The meeting is hosted by the Ministry of Finance of China and organized by the SAR government. It will continue the discussions of other APEC finance meetings, exploring issues such as the global and regional macroeconomic and financial situation, fiscal policies that support people's livelihood development, promoting financing for digital infrastructure, advancing inclusive finance development in light of local conditions, and promoting exchanges and cooperation among APEC young financial talents. John Lee Ka-chiu said he sincerely thanked the country for its trust in and support for the Hong Kong SAR, and stressed that every effort would be made to ensure the success of the meeting. During the Finance Ministers' Meeting, in addition to formal meetings, a welcome dinner, seminars, and visit activities will also be arranged. He mentioned that finance ministries of various countries are carrying out registration and verification work related to meeting participants. The SAR government will continue to maintain close communication and cooperation with the Ministry of Finance of China, assist delegations in completing registration procedures, and also provide supporting services such as hotels, transportation, and reception in accordance with existing APEC guidelines and requirements. He stressed that the SAR government will fully cooperate with the work of the Ministry of Finance of China, provide delegations with a high-quality meeting experience, and make announcements in due course. He also said that Hong Kong's first five-year plan has been published for three weeks, and the Hong Kong government is actively explaining its significance and importance, especially how it will benefit the public. The Legislative Council will, starting tomorrow (October 7), hold a joint debate for three consecutive days on the five-year plan and the Policy Address.
