On October 4, according to the Ministry of Transport, on October 3, 2026 (the third day of the National Day holiday), cross-regional passenger flows across society totaled 303.568 million person-trips, down 0.6% from the previous day and down 0.4% compared with the same period in 2025 (October 3, the third day of the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday, the same below).
Among them:
Railway passenger volume was 19.273 million person-trips, down 7.2% from the previous day and up 6.1% year on year;
Road passenger flows were 279.99 million person-trips, down 0.2% from the previous day and down 0.8% year on year (of which commercial road passenger volume was 37.87 million person-trips, down 2.4% from the previous day and up 5.9% year on year; non-commercial passenger vehicle travel on expressways and ordinary national and provincial highways was 242.12 million person-trips, up 0.2% from the previous day and down 1.7% year on year);
Waterway passenger volume was 2.046 million person-trips, up 12.6% from the previous day and up 6.3% year on year;
Civil aviation passenger volume was 2.259 million person-trips, down 5.9% from the previous day and down 5.8% year on year.
