CSPC PHARMA(01093) announced that the Phase Ib clinical trial (JMT206003) of JMT206 injection, developed by the group for weight management in overweight or obese adult patients, has officially been initiated at the first research center in China. The product is registered as a Class 1 therapeutic biological product. It is a recombinant fully human monoclonal antibody against activin receptor type IIA ("ActR-IIA") and type IIB ("ActR-IIB"), which can specifically bind to ActR-IIA and ActR-IIB on the surface of target cell membranes, blocking the activation of the ActR-IIA and ActR-IIB signaling pathways, thereby promoting increased muscle mass and weight reduction. Preclinical studies have shown that the product demonstrates favorable muscle-building and fat-reducing effects, as well as safety and tolerability. The group obtained the Drug Clinical Trial Approval Notice issued by the National Medical Products Administration of the People's Republic of China in November 2025 for the product's use in overweight or obesity indications, and initiated the Phase I clinical trial after approval. Data from the Phase I clinical trial preliminarily validated the safety, pharmacokinetic, and pharmacodynamic characteristics of the product in healthy participants. The Phase Ib clinical trial initiated this time is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled parallel-group clinical trial, designed to evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetic, and pharmacodynamic characteristics of multiple subcutaneous administrations of the product as monotherapy or in combination with semaglutide injection in obese participants. Currently, participant recruitment and screening for this clinical trial are being actively advanced.
