On Monday, computer hardware stocks broadly declined, with Super Micro Computer, Inc. (SMCI.US) falling nearly 5%, Dell Technologies, Inc. Class C (DELL.US) dropping nearly 4%, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. (HPE.US) declining over 2%. On the news front, recently, a key shareholder of Dell Technologies, Inc. Class C has been intensively reducing its stake. Silver Lake Group filed a Form 144 restricted stock sale notice, intending to sell 4,788 shares of Class C common stock, with the shares originating from a previous pro-rata in-kind distribution; Silver Lake co-CEO and Dell Technologies, Inc. Class C director Egon Durban also filed a similar Form 144 notice, intending to sell 1,800 shares of Class C common stock. Information also shows that multiple affiliated entities under Silver Lake have collectively sold 2,048,079 shares of Dell Technologies, Inc. Class C over the past three months. Such continuous disclosures easily draw market attention, as reductions by major shareholders are often interpreted by investors as increased short-term supply pressure, or at least as a sign that some long-term holders are adjusting their asset allocation. On the company management side, there has also been relatively intensive shareholding activity. Dell Technologies, Inc. Class C Chief Financial Officer David Alan Kennedy disclosed that on September 17, he reduced his holdings by a total of 23,896 shares of common stock through two transactions, and still directly holds 159,201 shares after the reduction. General Counsel and Corporate Secretary Richard J. Rothberg also reduced his holdings by 4,000 shares of common stock on the same day, and directly holds 132,415 shares after the reduction. Other disclosures show that the company has recently seen 79 insider transactions, including multiple sale records from shareholders holding more than 10%.
