HUTCHMED (00013): Will present clinical data from several studies at the 2026 European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Annual Congress

HUTCHMED (00013) has announced that it will present the latest and updated data from several studies of compounds independently developed by HUTCHMED at the 2026 Annual Congress of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), to be held in Madrid, Spain, from October 23 to 27, 2026. Notably, positive results from two Phase III studies of the combination therapy of savolitinib and osimertinib have been selected for oral presentations. Results from the global SAFFRON study will be presented during the Presidential Symposium, while results from the SANOVO China study will be presented during the Proffered Paper session. Both studies bring the latest important clinical data. Both Phase III studies have also been selected as late-breaking abstracts, further highlighting the tremendous potential of this all-oral, chemotherapy-free combination regimen to deliver a major breakthrough for patients with non-small cell lung cancer. The global Phase III SAFFRON study was selected for an oral presentation at the Presidential Symposium. The study evaluated the combination therapy for the treatment of patients with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-mutated non-small cell lung cancer who have disease progression after osimertinib treatment and who have MET overexpression or amplification. The study announced positive topline results on August 17, 2026, showing that the combination therapy demonstrated statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvements in progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) compared with platinum-based doublet chemotherapy. The SANOVO China Phase III study was selected for a Proffered Paper oral presentation. The study evaluated the combination therapy for the treatment of patients with locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer who are previously untreated and who have EGFR-activating mutations and MET overexpression. The study announced positive topline results on August 31, 2026, showing that the combination therapy demonstrated statistically significant and clinically meaningful PFS improvement and clinically meaningful OS benefit compared with osimertinib monotherapy.
