Citi issued a research report stating that it has raised the target price for STANCHART (02888) from HK$232.4 to HK$248.4, reiterating a "Neutral/High Risk" rating. The bank updated its assumptions for the Federal Reserve and the Bank of England, now expecting terminal rates of 4.75% and 4.25% respectively, which drove an upward revision to STANCHART's net interest income forecast.
Accordingly, the bank raised STANCHART's earnings per share forecasts for 2026 to 2028 by 0% to 5%, which is 0% to 7% above market expectations. Based on the closing price of HK$239.4 on September 22, the expected share price return is 3.8%, the expected dividend yield is 2.7%, and the expected total return is 6.5%.
