In September 2026, prices for TV, monitor, and notebook panels remained broadly stable.
On September 21, TrendForce announced its September panel price trends. In September 2026, TV, monitor, and notebook panel prices remained broadly stable overall. TV panels Entering September, demand for TV panels remained stable, but panel makers have already felt the pressure of successive increases in component costs. In mid-September, China's three major panel makers issued panel price increase notices one after another, sending a signal that under the pressure of rising costs, panel prices must respond appropriately. Based on current observations, major brand customers are, on the one hand, continuing to prepare for year-end peak-season demand, while on the other hand still facing tight supply pressure in the procurement of other components such as memory. Therefore, taking into account the premise of maintaining market share, customers are unlikely to significantly revise their panel procurement volumes, which also provides an opportunity for panel makers to adopt a more positive attitude. In addition, panel makers also plan to adjust production capacity during the National Day holiday for 3 to 7 days depending on the case. By regulating supply and demand, the subsequent downward pressure on TV panel prices is expected to ease. Based on current observations, TV panel prices in September are expected to remain fully flat, while panel makers look for opportunities to raise prices. Monitor panels Overall third-quarter demand for monitor panels was relatively weak, but against the backdrop of continuously rising cost pressure on the component side, panel makers have taken a relatively firm stance on panel prices and do not have much room for concessions. Brand customers also understand this situation and can accept panel prices remaining stable. On the other hand, as major panel makers begin to prepare for TV panel prices to stabilize and rise, panel makers are still evaluating whether monitor panel prices have a chance to follow suit. Once an upward trend in TV panel prices is established, monitor panel prices will also follow with price increases to ease the pressure of rising costs. Based on current observations of September monitor panel price trends, mainstream model specifications are expected to remain fully flat. Notebook panels Entering September, demand for notebook panels remained weak, and brand customers continued to adjust their pull-in momentum. Major brand customers' procurement momentum in the third quarter is estimated to decline by more than 20% quarter-on-quarter, and demand in the fourth quarter cannot be ruled out from continuing to weaken, with an estimated quarter-on-quarter decline in the double-digit range. With demand so weak, panel makers are indeed facing considerable pressure in shipments, but under the pressure of soaring component costs, it is also difficult for panel makers to secure more orders by making more concessions on panel prices. As panel makers continue to signal the pressure of rising costs, most brand customers understand the situation and have not excessively demanded that panel makers continue to lower panel prices. Both buyers and sellers still share a main consensus of price stability. Based on current observations of September notebook panel price trends, prices are expected to remain fully flat.
