Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals (01276): HRS-4729 Injection Receives Drug Clinical Trial Approval Notice

Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals (01276) announced that recently, the company and its subsidiary Fujian Shengdi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. received the Drug Clinical Trial Approval Notice issued by the National Medical Products Administration for HRS-4729 Injection, and will soon initiate clinical trials. HRS-4729 Injection is a peptide-based drug independently developed by the company, and is a glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R)/glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide receptor (GIPR)/glucagon receptor (GCGR) triple agonist. HRS-4729 can, by activating GLP-1R, GIPR, and GCGR, exert effects in the body including suppressing appetite, delaying gastric emptying, enhancing insulin sensitivity, promoting lipolysis and energy expenditure. Through weight loss, improving insulin resistance, and reducing ectopic renal fat, the synergistic action of the three targets is expected to reduce renal metabolic burden, thereby improving renal function and ultimately achieving the effect of treating chronic kidney disease. Currently, no similar drugs have been approved for marketing domestically or internationally. As of now, the cumulative R&D investment in the HRS-4729 Injection-related project is approximately RMB 87.6 million (unaudited).
