Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals (600276.SH): HRS-1596 Tablets Receive Drug Clinical Trial Approval Notice

Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals (600276.SH) announced that recently, its subsidiary Fujian Shengdi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. received the Drug Clinical Trial Approval Notice issued by the National Medical Products Administration for HRS-1596 Tablets, approving the conduct of clinical trials of this product for weight management indication and type 2 diabetes indication. HRS-1596 Tablets is a Class 1 new drug independently developed by the company, which can effectively reduce weight and improve blood glucose-related indicators in animal efficacy models of obesity and diabetes, respectively. Upon review, there are currently no oral drugs targeting the same target approved for marketing both domestically and internationally. As of now, the cumulative R&D investment in HRS-1596 Tablets-related projects is approximately 18.4 million yuan (unaudited).
