GENSCRIPT BIO (01548) rose over 7% in early trading. As of press time, it was up 6.56% at HK$41.92, with a turnover of HK$801 million. On the news front, GenScript recently announced a collaboration with Eli Lilly's AIDD collaboration platform Lilly TuneLab. The company will provide wet-lab services to enterprises participating in TuneLab, helping them rapidly generate experimental data, convert AI predictions into biological validation data, and accelerate candidate drug evaluation. EB SECURITIES pointed out that as major model developers enter AI pharma, the company's business model has undergone profound changes. The institution noted: on volume, traditional pharma projects typically advance clinical candidate molecules through a small number of projects, whereas AI large models can generate hundreds or even thousands of candidate sequences in a single iteration; on price, customers are not only purchasing proteins but also high-value-added, high-quality structured experimental data, and customers will pay a premium for speed; on repurchase rate, an increasing number of customers are shifting from single projects to multi-stage, multi-service partnerships, i.e., transitioning from a "cash-and-carry" model to continuous customer repurchases. Based on customer demand, the company expects AI-driven protein orders to maintain triple-digit percentage growth in the second half of 2026 and beyond.
