Hong Kong SFC: Chow Pak-wah market manipulation case scheduled for pre-trial review on November 12
The Eastern Magistrates' Courts today scheduled the case for a pre-trial review on 12 November 2026.
The Hong Kong SFC earlier instituted criminal proceedings against Chow Pak-wah (male), alleging that he failed to comply with notices issued by the Hong Kong SFC under section 183 of the Securities and Futures Ordinance in relation to two market manipulation cases under investigation. The Eastern Magistrates' Courts today scheduled the case for a pre-trial review on November 12, 2026.
Chow today pleaded not guilty to three charges, namely that without reasonable excuse, he failed to comply with the requirements of notices issued by the Hong Kong SFC on July 24, 2024, August 9, 2024 and October 25, 2024 to produce records and documents and attend interviews.
Chow was issued an arrest warrant by the magistrate for failing to appear at two court hearings previously scheduled for October 23, 2025 and December 4, 2025, and was brought to court after being arrested.
The court granted Chow bail on the conditions that he: (i) pay bail of HK$15,000; (ii) not leave Hong Kong and surrender all travel documents; (iii) reside at the provided address and notify the police before any change of residence; and (iv) report to a police station three times a week.
