The Hong Kong Chinese Banks Association warmly welcomes and fully supports the "First Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region" and the new "Policy Address." This is the first time Hong Kong has formulated a medium- to long-term five-year plan, with annual deployments implemented through the "Policy Address," drawing a clear strategic blueprint for Hong Kong's financial industry and the overall economy and boosting market confidence. The Hong Kong Chinese Banks Association will continue to unite industry efforts, actively offer suggestions on the implementation details of the "Five-Year Plan" and the "Policy Address," leverage the unique advantages and bridging role of the Chinese Banks Association, and work with all sectors to seize the historic opportunities presented by the country's development strategy, making greater contributions to Hong Kong's long-term prosperity and stability.
The Association believes that the "Five-Year Plan" and the "Policy Address" are grounded in Hong Kong's actual circumstances, deepen reform and innovation, and put forward a number of initiatives in the financial sector, including: consolidating and enhancing Hong Kong's status as an international financial center, strengthening its function as a global offshore RMB business hub, optimizing the stock and bond market systems, expanding the functions of an asset and wealth management and risk management center, and advancing "Finance+" to empower the upgrading and transformation of the real economy. At the same time, the government actively supports mainland enterprises in "going global," strengthens cross-border trade data connectivity and financial services to help SMEs reduce costs and improve efficiency, and continues to deepen the development of the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area" and the "Northern Metropolis," which will further expand the development space and service boundaries of the financial industry.
