XIMEI RESOURCES (09936) rose over 10% in the afternoon. As of press time, it was up 10.52% at HK$14.5, with a turnover of HK$13.3951 million. On the news front, in January and March 2026, the Rubaya coltan mining area in the Democratic Republic of Congo suffered two severe collapses due to heavy rainfall and landslides, leading to a complete halt in production. The output of this mining area accounts for more than 15% of global supply, directly triggering market concerns about supply contraction. Tantalite prices subsequently experienced a pulse-like surge, jumping 46% month-on-month in February and further soaring 87% in March. The aftermath of this supply shock is still affecting the industry chain. SDIC Securities International released a research report stating that in the first half of the year, XIMEI RESOURCES' revenue, gross profit, net profit, and EPS all hit new highs since listing. The performance was driven by: disruptions in global tantalum raw material supply, rising tantalum product prices; sales growth driven by high-prosperity downstream sectors such as AI semiconductors, optical communications, aerospace, and superconductors; and the continuously rising proportion of high-value-added products, with product structure optimization driving gross margin improvement. The firm expressed optimism about the company as one of the global leaders in tantalum-niobium smelting, fully benefiting from the structural demand dividends of computing power, optical modules, superconductors, and aerospace.
