On September 15, Christopher Hui, Hong Kong's Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, attended the Cross-Strait and Hong Kong-Macao Economic and Trade Forum, where he mentioned that the company re-domiciliation regime has received about 80 applications to date, with 50 approved from companies across different industries. He stated that Hong Kong is a leading global cross-border wealth management center, bringing together global capital, professional talent, and diversified products. Hong Kong is further optimizing the preferential tax regimes for funds, single family offices, and carried interest, as well as providing additional tax concessions for corporate treasury centers, in order to attract more high-quality enterprises and long-term capital to Hong Kong. At the same time, Hong Kong continues to improve the ecosystem for family offices and asset owners. By the end of last year, more than 3,380 single family offices were operating in Hong Kong, an increase of about 680 compared with two years ago, reflecting international market confidence in Hong Kong and demonstrating the resilience and attractiveness of Hong Kong's regime. He also noted that Hong Kong is actively developing its gold and commodities markets. The Hong Kong Gold Central Clearing and Settlement System has entered the trial operation stage. It will promote physical delivery, develop investment and derivative products, improve risk management tools, provide tax concessions, and deepen connectivity with the mainland gold market, gradually building a more vibrant and complete gold trading ecosystem.
