On a seasonally adjusted basis, the index of industrial production for the overall manufacturing sector rose by 0.2% in the second quarter of 2026 compared with the first quarter of 2026.
The producer price index reflects changes in local producer prices. They measure changes in the actual prices received by producers for their output (i.e. after deducting any discounts or rebates to buyers and adding any surcharges), but excluding transport costs and other miscellaneous charges.
Among the industries that recorded year-on-year increases in producer prices in the second quarter of 2026 were mainly the metal, computer, electronic and optical products, and machinery and equipment industry (+24.6%), and the food, beverages and tobacco products industry (+0.7%).
