On the news front, the 27th China International Optoelectronic Exposition (CIOE China Optics Expo) commenced today and will last for three days at the Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center. This exhibition brings together many leading enterprises in the industry chain, focusing on showcasing cutting-edge products and solutions such as 1.6T high-speed pluggable optical modules, CPO/NPO co-packaged optics, and MPO high-speed fiber optic connectors. Guolian Minsheng Securities pointed out that based on the product progress disclosed by the exhibiting companies, 1.6T is gradually entering a stage of mass production, with 3.2T and higher-tier products sequentially moving toward sample delivery and customer verification. The industrialization progress of new architectures such as NPO, CPO, and XPO is expected to become a significant focus of this year's exhibition.
On the overseas front, despite the decline of all three major U.S. stock indices overnight, the optical communication concept defied the trend and surged. Lumentum soared over 11%, while Coherent and Corning both rose by more than 7%, and Applied Optoelectronics increased by over 5%. This surge was directly catalyzed by Qualcomm's announcement of a customized AI chip collaboration agreement with Amazon that spans multiple generations of products. The collaboration covers high-speed optical connectivity technology for connecting computational components, with related chip orders potentially reaching up to USD 60 billion over the next decade; meanwhile, Corning announced a multi-year supply agreement worth several billion dollars with U.S. telecom giant Verizon, which will last until 2032.
