According to data from the China CSSC Industrial Association, in the first half of 2026, Chinas shipbuilding completion volume is expected to reach 36.5 million deadweight tons, a year-on-year increase of 51.2%, accounting for 62.2% of the global total; new orders received will amount to 121.06 million deadweight tons, up 173.1% year-on-year, making up 82.3% of the global total; and the hand-held order volume is 363.25 million deadweight tons, an increase of 54.9% year-on-year, accounting for 71.2% of the global total. In terms of ship prices, the global new ship price index in August stood at 186.34 points, a month-on-month increase of 0.46% and up 1.11% from the beginning of the year. The high prosperity of the industry continues to be validated. In the first half of this year, Cssc Offshore & Marine Engineering achieved a net profit attributable to the parent company of 840 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 59%. In the second quarter alone, a net profit attributable to the parent company of 440 million yuan was achieved, representing a year-on-year increase of 29% and a quarter-on-quarter increase of 11%. The company currently has a backlog of orders worth 73.4 billion yuan, including 173 ship products and 1 piece of offshore engineering equipment, totaling 6.28 million deadweight tons. Shenwan Hongyuan Group pointed out that the company continues to benefit from the high prosperity of the shipbuilding industry, with sufficient orders on hand and a steady influx of high-value ship model orders.
