In terms of news, at the end of last month, KB LAMINATES announced that it would increase prices for its products, including copper-clad laminates and electronic fabrics. All thicknesses of FR-4 copper-clad laminates will see a uniform price increase of 10%, while the price for heavy fabrics (including 7628 and above) will increase by 10%, and thin fabrics (below 7628) will increase by 20%. This marks the seventh price increase announcement from KB LAMINATES since 2026. Citigroup expects that KB LAMINATES will once again raise copper-clad laminate prices in early October to pass on costs, reiterating a "Buy" rating with a target price of HKD 95.
It is worth mentioning that the continuous price increases have had an immediate positive impact on KB LAMINATES' performance. In the first half of this year, the company achieved operating revenue of HKD 14.904 billion, a year-on-year increase of 55%; net profit attributable to the parent company reached HKD 2.887 billion, up 209% year-on-year. Additionally, the company recorded a monthly profit of approximately HKD 1.1 billion in July 2026, setting a record high for the group. Management expects that the supply-demand imbalance in the copper-clad panel industry will be difficult to alleviate in the short term, and the industry will remain in an upward cycle.
